DANNY WILDE of The Rembrandts

With The Rembrandts on hiatus in the late 1990s, Danny Wilde found himself working as a solo artist. And while 1998's Spin This was credited to Danny Wilde + The Rembrandts (at the label's demand), this is clearly a Wilde solo album---and its probably his best. Spin This is loaded with great tunes and fantastic guest musicians. The first single, Long Walk Back, is a jangly rocker co-written with Gin Blossom Jesse Valenzuela. Shakespeare's Tragedy and Summertime, easily two of the album's highlights, feature string arrangements by the legendary Van Dyke Parks. This Close To Heaven might be Danny's best solo song yet. Add Graham Edwards and wife Lauren Christy, later of the trio The Matrix (future writers of hit songs for Avril Lavigne and Liz Phair) to the mix, as well as guitarist Mark Karen (later drafted by the Grateful Dead), and you have a fantastic solo album for Danny Wilde.
