Before The Rembrandts formed in 1990, Danny Wilde released three solo albums between 1986 and 1989. The results were a few rock radio hits and a spot on the Billboard Top 200. Nearly ten years later, with the Rembrandts on hiatus, Danny released another album, 1998's Spin This. He also released two albums online, BeeSides and Scragglers. He and Jesse Cook scored a hit with a cover of Crowded House's "Fall At Your Feet" in 2000. Since then, Danny has focused mainly on The Rembrandts and other writing & producing projects. After the demise of Great Buildings, Danny Wilde released his first solo album in 1986 on Island Records and scored the minor hit Isn't It Enough. Features Phil Solem on lead guitar. Available only on LP and cassette, and now in MP3 on this site! Danny's first solo album in almost a decade is probably his best, with the Van Dyke Parks infused Shakespeare's Tragedy & Summertime, the rocker This Close To Heaven, and the catchy Long Walk Back which was co-written by Jesse Valenzuela of Gin Blossoms. Spin This!
Danny's second album featured the Top 20 rock hit Time Runs Wild. Song for song, AMH is probably the best of Danny's 80s solo efforts. Wouldn't Be The First Time and Contradiction are other highlights. At one time out of print but re-released in 1998. Also on iTunes. AMH!
A great companion piece to Spin This is the EP BeeSides, originally released online and now available here for free! It contains six tracks that didn't make the final cut for Spin This, although many of these songs certainly could have. Check out Heard Enough and If This Is Love.
The self-titiled album was Danny's last before forming the Rembrandts with Phil Solem. Among the standout tracks are the single The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of, the beautiful Like A River, and the rocker California Sunshine which features Peter Frampton on guitar. Download here!
Danny was working on this collection, a follow up to Spin This, when the Rembrandts decided to reunite. Originally called N-Progress, but later remixed and titled Scragglers---just re-released at Amie Street so you can enjoy tracks like Mess, When We Get There, and Everyone Lets You Down. More info...
